CONNECTICUT FREEDOM REINS

A program for our Veterans & First Responders

1st Saturday of each Month 9:30AM, Begins August 6th 2022

This program presents Veterans and First Responders with a safe Equine partner to spend time with. Because horses are non-judgmental, they help people open up in ways that are not traditional. Veterans and First Responders who get involved, often report a variety of emotional benefits:

  • Reduced stress
  • Increased confidence
  • Relationship building skills
  • Improved ability to trust others

Each of these benefits aids in long term overall positive mental health. These sessions generally are done with ground work.

PLEASE WEAR CLOSED TOES SHOES AND KINDLY LEAVE PETS AT HOME.

FREE to all Veterans and First Responders.

EQUI YOGA WITH MARTY WHITTLE

About: My goal is to help as many riders as possible learn about their bodies and how to connect with their horses. As riders, we need to have an inner stability to allow our horses to perform easily. The practice I have developed, Equi Yoga, combines the benefits of yoga, breath and movement with the healing properties inherent in our horses. Practicing these fun exercises, in combination with your horses’ movement can loosen and strengthen troubled areas like the neck, shoulders, arms, back, seat and legs. This practice also helps build confidence in riders who may have had an accident or fall, as well as beginners who need to develop a proper foundation on a horse. Veterans and people who suffer with PTSD can find relief through Equi Yoga.

We are offering individual or groups of three depending on experience and availability. Please call or email for more information.

Volunteer Today!

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities that allow people of all ages, abilities, talents, and experience levels to help the horses.

Though we can always use help with chores (such as mucking, brushing, feeding, walking, etc.) we are also always looking for people to help with building projects on the farm (barn additions/repairs, fences, etc.).

Not in town. We can still use your help. Help by writing Thank You notes, database entry, post events, assist with fundraising, recruit volunteers, grant writing and so much more!

No Experience Necessary! Great place for Community Service hours.
